Conical nozzles one of our latest showpieces!
We recently produced these two similar nozzle end pieces from stainless steel 316. The parts are 45mm diameter with a tapered full length bore from 38mm diameter down to a 20mm diameter. The environment these parts go into meant that the bore finish had to be a high grade finish of 0.4um.
Although we have machines with the capability to make them complete, as they were low quantities we opted to use other technology to produce them. Therefore after turning them on one of our CNC lathes, the parts were transferred to one of our CNC mills. These machines are fitted with infrared probes. We could therefore check each part 'in cycle' using the probes to ensure the three lugs being milled were perfectly positioned and central.
